Kendra Capron

My name is Kendra Capron and I am the Assistant Director of Little Mountain Preschool. I was born in California, and moved to Steamboat Springs at the age of three. There I grew up exploring the outdoors and enjoyed all that living in a mountain town has to offer! I am the middle child of seven children and have always loved helping care for my younger siblings. As soon as I was old enough to start babysitting our family friends and neighbors booked up many of my weekends. I knew when I got older I would continue caring for children, and eventually become a teacher.

I attended the University of Colorado Denver where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and obtained my Early Childhood certification through the state of Colorado. I am also large center director qualified through the state. Over the past 20 years I have always found joy in watching children learn, explore, and form meaningful relationships with their peers. Working with young children has always been my passion and I am grateful that I have worked with many different schools in the Colorado area. As an assistant teacher at the Montessori Academy of Colorado I learned the importance of independent learning. I later joined Kids Play Garden in Steamboat Springs and saw how a little preschool can make a big impact in the community. In 2019 I joined Kat here in Fort Collins where we grew a local preschool and laid the foundation for what would soon become Little Mountain Preschool. I know I have found my home away from home and will continue to foster my love for teaching here at Little Mountain.
In my down time my husband and I love to travel, and have enjoyed visiting Yellow Stone, Mexico, Turks and Caicos and look forward to adding to our adventures together. We have a fur baby named Willow who is our couch princess and a chameleon named Coraline. We love to go camping and while my husband fly fishes Willow and I explore the banks of the rivers. If we are not traveling I am enjoying the sun in my backyard, exploring in and around Fort Collins, or boating on Horsetooth reservoir.
